Our Story
Since 2018, Matt has been proudly operating Outta the way Cafe’ serving up some of the most unique and twistedly toasted local favorites in his own design. The journey began when he was 14 years old employed as a dishwasher at a local Italian restaurant. During his life journey he has traveled the country in search of his dream, gaining the skills and knowledge to create his own style and make his footprint in the culinary world. During his travels he spent many years traveling up and down the east coast and ventured out west to the Uinta mountain range. Learning many different styles and methods of preparing the freshest local offerings, from the freshest fish at an ocean side seafood grill in several coastal cities and towns to the high mountains of Park City Utah to the plains of south western Wyoming in finding a love for creating new and exciting dishes while working alongside some of the best culinary talent throughout the country. He has compiled a vast resume’ starting as a dishwasher moving to salads and prep then up to the front line right in the fire as a Sous’ Chef then earning the title of Executive Chef & Executive Corporate Chef. Within the first year of owning and operating Outta the Way Cafe’ and with the support of his family and close friends Matt was able to pursue another venture with the opening of Joeys@307. A small and eclectic old world Italian restaurant, with his growingly popular twisted culinary method offering his own take on the classic Italian favorites, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner this guy has you covered from the start of your day to late into the evening to wind down and enjoy a first class dinner. His restaurants source all their products from local businesses such as Bossones Pork Store, Cotrupe Produce, DM Mondi, Heidelberg Breads, Giuseppe’s Bakery, N J Flihan & Several other local farm and restaurant supply companies. We are a locally owned family business with family roots in our community supporting our local businesses.
